Take the Wheel

Set the tone for your day…

(a few ideas on how)

  • Don’t hit snooze
  • Take a few deep breaths
  • Drink a glass of water
  • Don’t check your phone for at least 30 minutes
  • Walk/Exercise
  • Listen to a positive podcast/YouTube video/audiobook for 5-10 minutes
  • Read something positive for 5-10 minutes
  • Smile and laugh
  • Plan your day in advance

How you begin the day can make a dramatic impact on the rest of it.

Begin to orchestrate your day…don’t allow yourself to just get swept along with the current.

Yes, there’s always going to be unexpected events and problems to deal with.

That’s life.

However, as you start to create expectations…as you begin to give yourself small yet purposeful tasks…you take more and more control of how your life develops.

YOU create the map and the course for where you want to go.

It’s never ending; I don’t mean that to create any sense of dread or overwhelm.

Taking the wheel of your life will produce more than just accepting the position of passenger.

Begin to navigate life by design.

Create a plan for the day and follow it.

Set the tone early, and feed off the positive energy you’ve created the rest of the day.

Sean Whalen calls this “tending your garden.”

You’ve got to tend the garden of your mind if you don’t want the weeds to take over.

First thing in the day is the best time to maximize your mindset for a positive life.

Watching and listening to great material like the following video is an example.

Listen as you get ready in the morning or drive to work.

Watch or read over your cup of coffee.

Use the infinite resources out there for your own good – not just as an escape or mindless entertainment.

Make today a great one.
